She also took master classes with Edith Matthis, Barbara Schlick and Kurt Widmer. At Theater Aachen she was engaged as a soloist and she also worked for the Landesbühne Rheinland-Pfalz and Grenzlandtheater Aachen. Until it closed in 2007, Maria Regina Heyne worked at the Kirchenmusik-Hochschule St. Gregoriushaus in Aachen as a vocal coach. She has received several awards for her success as a singer, including the Cultural Award of the City of Aachen and the Richard Wagner Scholarship in Bayreuth. Concert tours have taken her to France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Czechoslovakia. Today she works as a freelance opera singer.
