Charity concert Herbstemotion to benefit Hospizstiftung AachenCopyright: Andreas Schmitter
In collaboration with Hospizstiftung Aachen, a charity concert entitled "Herbstemotionen," or fall emotions, took place on November 1, 2017 to benefit the newly built hospice in Aachen Simmerath. In 2014, the Aachen symphony orchestra had already given such a concert. This year, the Collegium Musicum Orchestra and Choir played for an enthusiastic audience alongside other respected artists, such as the "Lovely Mister Singing Club."
Despite the short time left for rehearsals – due to the late beginning of the semester in the middle of October – the Collegium Musicum members were highly motivated to show commitment to a social cause through music in this way. The program included several movements from the "German Requiem" by Johannes Brahms.
A special feature: Fabio Lesuisse had again consented to join us as the baritone soloist.
Ulla Schmidt, Bundestag Vice President and Chairwoman of the Hospizstiftung Region Aachen board of trustees, led the audience through this memorable evening. Even the balcony seats of the impressive theater had been sold out and for the Collegium Musicum musicians it was an exciting experience to play on stage at the Stadttheater in support of a worthy cause.
